Privacy Policy — Fit, Video Compressor

Last updated: 7 October 2026

The short version

Fit does not collect, transmit, store or sell any data. Your videos never leave your computer. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no servers.

What the extension does with your video

When you choose a video, it is read into your browser's memory and compressed there, using your computer's own video encoder. The compressed file is written back only when you click Save file, to the download location you choose.

Nothing is uploaded. The extension makes no network requests at all: the compression engine is bundled inside the extension rather than downloaded, so it works with no internet connection.

Data we collect

None.

Specifically, Fit does not collect or transmit:

Because nothing is collected, nothing is sold, shared or transferred to any third party, and nothing is used for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.

Permissions, and why each is needed

The extension requests no other permissions.

Local storage on your device

Your chosen preferences may be saved on your own device so the extension remembers them. You can clear this at any time by removing the extension.

Children

Fit is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new "last updated" date. Because the extension collects no data, any change would be a clarification rather than a change in data handling.
